By Jesus Christ is often used to describe what Jesus has already done, and what Jesus did is what Jesus is already doing. This is a pretty good metaphor for what I’m talking about when I talk about self-awareness. Jesus is already “Jesus” in action, so if Jesus is already Jesus, Jesus is already Jesus.
So as we all know, Jesus does many terrible things, but he seems to be aware that he’s doing them. He seems to have learned from the mistakes of his past, and in “The Gospel of Matthew,” Jesus gives the perfect example of what we should do when we get caught in the sin of self-awareness – he tells us to sin no more, then to repent, and pray for forgiveness.
So I’ve been reading (and re-reading) the Gospel of Matthew for the past couple of months. The Gospel of Matthew shows Jesus’ life and teachings in action and in contrast to the many other gospels. Jesus does many terrible things and appears to be aware of this.
Jesus’ words to us are like those of Jesus to his disciples. Jesus’ words show us we can use our God-given brains to get what we want in life. We can be humble and respectful in our life, we can trust in God, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to be perfect.
I love the way Jesus words are all over the world, but sometimes I just have to be honest and say, “Hey this is not the life we were created to live.” Jesus words show us people can live life exactly how Jesus wants it to. Jesus life is very different than we often think of it. I think a lot of people have a hard time grasping Jesus life so they just take Jesus words to mean we can be perfect and not have to worry about anything.
Jesus life and the life of Jesus, is a very different thing. Jesus life is very simple. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard Jesus say, “go and sin no more,” and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. But Jesus also tells us to keep our arms out of the kitchen sink. Jesus life is not a life you want to live. Jesus life is not a life we should get into.
Jesus life is a life we should get into. Jesus life is a life that we should be able to enjoy. Jesus life is a life that we should strive to live.
Although Jesus life is simple, Jesus life is also a very complex life. Jesus life is a life in which we have to deal with our own free will. It is a life in which we are not simply a drop in the bucket. I know for a fact that Ive said things to people that I probably should not have said to them because I thought I knew them better than they did. That, my friends, is Jesus life.

God is not a man nor a god, but a loving Father.
