I am a business ethics student. I’ve had to take it a few times. I’ve been in business for a long time and I’ve learned that being ethical is just like being creative. There are so many ways to do it and many ways to not do it. If you want to be ethical, it really comes down to this: what are you willing to risk. And what are you willing to sacrifice.
Some ethics professors Ive talked to say that it’s okay if you have a few ethics classes. They say it helps you to think bigger. But if your ethics professors are just telling you that you’re ethical because they’re afraid of looking bad, then you are already making a terrible mistake.
It is a very difficult thing to commit to and even more difficult to justify. This is why I think it is so important to discuss these things before you commit to them. You will only regret it if you fail to take these responsibilities seriously.
When I first started doing these classes for my graduate course, I was very nervous about the whole business of being ethical. I had never made any business decisions before. I did, however, talk with my parents, who were very supportive. I have to say that they were so relieved to hear I was doing this that, when I told them how I was doing it, they were so surprised and delighted that I was so open and honest it was as if I had just told them everything.
This is how you keep your students up in the morning. I know that it can be a lot of fun, but having a class that’s about all you do on the go is a good way to get them thinking about why you’re doing what you’re doing. Once you’re done talking to them you can start to think about what they’re thinking about.
I used to be someone who worked in a business that did this a lot. I was also a lawyer, and I thought I knew how to do stuff like this, but I was wrong.
I was wrong because I just didnt know how to do it. I wish I did. I just didnt know how to do it. I was the one who said I knew how to do it, and I did.
There are plenty of ways to do business with the wrong people. Bill Madison and his partner, Chris Rahn, have a rule of thumb for business ethics that is a little different than most. In that case, they don’t try to fool people into thinking they’re doing something unethical. Instead they just do what they do in their normal business, and they don’t get into the weeds. They don’t argue about a small amount of money or that the client is cheating.
That is exactly what Bill and Chris did. They worked with a client to renovate a building in a very poor neighborhood, and they didnt get into the weeds. They didnt get into the small amount of money that the client wanted. They didnt get into the situation that the client wanted. And they didnt get into the situation that the client wanted and then leave him with a bill. That would be an unethical situation, and Bill and Chris didnt get into that.
